Crepuscolo/Declino 7″
Gianni Giublena Rosacroce is the monicker under which Stefano Isaia (Movie Star Junkies, La Piramide Di Sangue, Lame) releases his most peculiar, personal and introspective music: often dyed with mid-eastern shades, it’s also tinged with melancholy and somber solemnity, like a forbidden ritual played by a murmuring orchestra leaded by a nomadic shaman. It’s esoteric, devotional, pagan and psychedelic at the same time.
Georg Trakl is considered one of the most important Austrian expressionist poets, died by overdose in 1914 at the age of 27; his poetry – a descending stairwell into his personal dark abyss – is scattered with drugged, dreadful visions, in attempt to exorcise the horrors of the Great War, the morbid relationship with his sister Grete, his excruciating depression and self-destructive drug abuse.
Crepuscolo/Declino is Gianni Giublena Rosacroce’s homage to Georg Trakl, two intimate musical portraits led by clarinet, piano and lyre. Cinematic, evocative and dramatic, they flicker in the dark as dying candles, perfectly matching Trakl’s imagery.
